Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Regional Ops, the Dispatch & Logistics Planner is responsible for working on the day-to-day activities of the Transport Operations Team. Planning and scheduling are critical functions of this role including strong organization and interpersonal skills. Customer Service, Dispatch, Safety and support to Management in ensuring our Customer Service experience is the best in the industry. Accurate documentation, data entry & communication are critical to ensuring Cryopeak’s processes are seamless in regard to trip planning, transportation and delivery to our customer sites. Experience and understanding of transportation regulations in BC and abroad are an asset.
Position: Dispatch & Logistics Planner | 10 days on/ 4 days off (8am-5pm)
Location: Red Deer (local candidates preferred)
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Logistics Experience: 3 years experience in a Logistics role in the transportation industry preferred, including experience in a 24×7 operation in the transportation industry. Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry is an asset.
- Certifications: Post secondary or equivalent experience is considered an asset. Proficiency in operating electronic equipment (tablets, fleet software and systems). MS Office proficiency is required. Understanding of transportation regulations and rules an asset (Hours of Service, commercial transportation regulations, etc.)
- Responsibilities:
- Work internally with the Manager, Regional Ops and Team, to ensure that the loading of transportation units is scheduled, and trips are planned.
- Ensure customers and stakeholders are kept updated on current delivery schedules as well as any changes that may impact delivery timelines.
- Supporting and updating internal logistics planning tools as required to ensure accuracy.
- Act as a reliable point of contact that can successfully manage the driver schedules and customer requirements while ensuring health, safety and compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Organize and provide information and data to accounting for customer invoicing.
- Filing and administration of trip reports and other documentation.
- Assisting drivers in resolving day-to-day issues and activities.
- Monitoring service levels to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
- Supporting, enforcing and continuously improving the Company’s Safety Management System and corporate policies.
- Act as liaison between supervisors, staff and customers.
- Super user with the company’s fleet software.
- Coordinate the startup and shutdown or our 3 LNG plants with onsite personnel based on forecasted demand.
