Procurement of goods, services, and facilities

Procuring goods, services, and facilities ensures that accessibility and inclusivity is considered at the beginning of the buying process. Currently, Cryopeak’s procurement procedures and practices do not consider accessibility requirements, and does not consider if the addition of certain goods and services will hinder accessibility. Our process of hiring third parties does not emphasize accessibility or the Accessible Canada Act in its selection process.

a. Actions:

  • Update procurement procedure documents to include accessibility checks when ordering goods and services.
  • Include accessibility considerations into the prequalification form and requests for proposals so they inform vendors that they will abide by the Accessible Canada Act.

6.

Design and Delivery of Programs and Services

When developing Cryopeak’s internal and external procedures, accessibility should be a priority from the start. Cryopeak currently does not have an approach for ensuring programs, processes, and services have taken account of accessibility. Cryopeak is committed to ensuring the correctness of delivery when it comes to our programs and services.

a. Actions:

  • Develop and promote guidelines on reviewing new and old company policies, procedures, and programs on applying accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Create a check list to guide employees on creating barrier-free programs and services.

7.

Transportation

While Cryopeak LNG Solutions dispatches and operates a fleet of vehicles for transportation of goods, we do not coordinate a transportation system for public use. Thus, the standards for transportation are not in the scope of this plan.

Consultations

Cryopeak is aware of the difficulties on creating a fully barrier-free environment for stakeholder, employees, and potential employees. To ensure our commitment to the cause, we have opened communication to our employees through surveys and one on one meetings with managers. Along with this, our Corporate Services department have met to discuss visible barriers in our main properties, and noted these in the Accessibility Plan.

A lot of importance is placed upon consulting people and experts in a meaningful way to build an accessible and inclusive environment. As a first step, Cryopeak has contacted Canadian Human Rights Commission on the Accessibility Plan, and how to identify barriers to remove and prevent them. Additional human resources experts have been consulted to review this document and identify possible changes and recommendations.

To align with Cryopeak’s commitment to make our workplace environment accessible to all, we have developed our Accessibility Plan in collaboration and consultation with our employees.

  • We gathered feedback and input from our team members through engaging managers with direct reports. The focus groups and 1 on 1 meetings between employees and managers occurred throughout the year to share feedback and ideas.
  • Managers then took this information back to us to build an Accessibility Plan.
  • The Management Team, using the employee feedback, reviewed the Accessibility Plan to encompass the recommendations given.

Cryopeak pledges to continue surveying employees and continue our open communication with employees and other stakeholders. We will continue measuring progress of any actionable items we have listed above and make deadlines to take action to remove barriers.
