Mr. Watzky is a founder and Managing Partner of BP Energy Partners and its affiliates. He is based in New York.
Mr. Watzky has over 20 years of private equity experience in energy sector investments that include oil and gas, merchant power, oil and gas services and unconventional oil and gas. As a Managing Partner of BP Energy Partners, Mr. Watzky is responsible for co-managing investment activities of BP Energy Partners and its affiliates, including deal sourcing, leading negotiations, structuring and executing transactions, and working closely with management teams while serving as a board member of portfolio companies.
Prior to founding BP Energy Partners, from 2002 through September 2012, Mr. Watzky was a Partner at MatlinPatterson, a private equity investment firm. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Watzky was a Director at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). Prior to CSFB, he was a Partner at the Serfimex Group in Mexico City. He began his career as a CPA at KPMG.
He received a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York- Albany in Albany, New York.
Mr. Robertson has direct investing experience across the energy landscape including power, upstream oil and gas, midstream and energy related verticals. At BP Energy Partners, he is responsible for transaction sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, execution and portfolio company oversight. Mr. Robertson is actively involved with the management of portfolio companies and currently serves as a director for Mesa Natural Gas Solutions, Pinnacle Midstream and Blue Roads Solutions.
Prior to the launch of BP Energy Partners in 2014, Mr. Robertson spent six years as a Managing Director in BP Capital's private investment group and was a member of BP Capital's Investment Committee. He originated and led multiple acquisitions and divestitures in the power space during his tenure at BP Capital and was responsible for the development of renewable power projects, including over 1,000 MW of wind power. In addition, Mr. Robertson was responsible for the development of traditional power projects across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to 2008, he was a member of the assurance and advisory practice at Ernst & Young LLP.
Mr. Robertson received a M.S. in Finance and a B.B.A. in Accounting, both from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He is licensed as a CPA in the State of Texas.
Mr. Brawn has direct investing experience across the energy and industrial landscape including power, upstream oil & gas, renewables, chemicals and other related verticals. At BP Energy Partners, he is responsible for transaction sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, execution and portfolio company oversight. Mr. Brawn is actively involved with the management of portfolio companies and currently serves as a director of Blue Roads Solutions.
Prior to joining BP Energy Partners, Mr. Brawn spent nine years at MatlinPatterson, a private equity investment firm focused on distressed-for-control investing. At MatlinPatterson, he was responsible for sourcing, due diligence and deal execution. He also worked extensively with portfolio company management teams to analyze capital investments, rationalize costs and guide corporate strategy. Prior to MatlinPatterson, he was an Associate and Analyst at Jefferies & Company.
Mr. Brawn received a B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Babson College.
Calum has worked in senior management positions in the marine industry for over 15 years and was with Teekay Shipping for 10 years. In his role as Vice President, Innovation and Technology based in Vancouver, Calum was responsible for identifying and developing new business areas for Teekay. Key areas of work included establishing an LNG bunkering project, development of LNG solutions such as FSRU, FLNG and small volume LNG and gas to wire.
Previous to this Calum held senior positions in Teekay responsible for global procurement across the Teekay Group, asset management, and project management with Teekay’s newbuilding program. As project manager in South Korea, Calum managed Teekay’s LNG newbuilding projects with a project value in excess of B$1.5.
Prior to joining Teekay, Calum worked with AP Moller Maersk in Offshore conversion projects and newbuilding projects. Calum has a degree in Naval Architecture from Newcastle, a Professional Engineer designation, as well as a Master of Business and Administration from the University of British Columbia.
